Portrush RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was launched last night (Friday 17th July 2020) just before 10pm after reports of three people in difficulty off East Strand beach, Portrush.
By the time the lifeboat arrived all three people had been able to make it to shore with help from members of the public.
Keith Gilmore Lifeboat Operations Manager said;-
‘We are glad that people are back on our beaches again, but everyone needs to be mindful that sea conditions can change very quickly and can catch people out unexpectedly. The three casualties were very lucky tonight that a member of the public was on hand to assist them back to shore.’
